Couple random pictures. Love these pjs. They make them in adult size and I told Joe we should both get some then we can all have matching pjs for Christmas morning.... we just might have to start that tradition.
Carter knows that he has to tip his sippy to get water out. Adorable!
I do find it interesting that dude knows that he has to tip his sippy to drink water, but he hasn't figured out belly to back rolling yet. I normally would not care if he didn't want to roll belly to back, but I would really like it if he learns it soon so we can all go back to getting some sleep! We were getting really spoiled with all the sleeping through the night he had been doing. Now, not so much sleeping through the night! He rolls to his belly, sleeps a while, then wakes up on his belly and wants to be on his back but doesn't know how to roll belly to back. So I've been trying to "teach" him. However, kid is stubborn. I have no idea where he got his stubbornness from... he fights me trying to roll him belly to back. Aye, aye, aye.
Tell me this isn't the cutest little outfit? This is totally Carter's hypothetical holiday outfit. Maybe I'll have to get it for his holiday pictures. Aye, The Children's Place has the cutest clothes!
Carter is 7 months old today. Crazy right?! And I never took his six month pictures with the onesie sticker.. oops.
Carter is a big fan of rice puffs
what? do I have something on my face?
is there still something on my face?
I'm not sure who loves this car the most. Carter or us. Great, great purchase!
Love that face. Love that kid! We've still been having some rough nights. Carter is liking sleeping on his belly, but will wake up and want to be on his back and he can't get there by himself. Have I mentioned that I wish he'd learn to roll belly to back? Since he hasn't figured that out we've been up quite a bit the past couple weeks. Joe was complaining about it the other day and while I agree that it hasn't been fun, I had to point out that we have the most chill baby ever. Kid doesn't get upset with much and is generally a seriously happy dude, so while getting up a bunch at night hasn't been super fun, we really don't have much to complain about.
One thing that has been fun is seeing Joe with Carter. Joe has always loved Carter, but something is different now. You can see Joe's love for Carter all over his face, all the time. It's adorable. Joe is completely smitten and Carter definitely feels the same way about Joe. The other night Carter and I were playing in his room when Joe got home from work. Joe said hi to the dogs and the moment Carter heard Joe's voice, he stopped playing, and looked toward his bedroom door. I swear he knew that Joe was about to walk up the stairs. So Carter sat looking at the door... first the dogs came in, followed by Joe. The moment Carter saw Joe he got super excited and gave Joe the hugest gummy baby smile and a little squeal. Adorable.
Today, at Buy Buy Baby, I was looking at strollers and Carter and Joe were looking at toys. As I walked to the toy section to find them a little pink car came out of one of the isles. I paid no attention and stepped aside so the parent/child in the car could keep on cruisin. Then I heard "Tara!" from the direction of the pink car. As I look towards the pink car this is what I see:
terrible cell phone picture, but you get the idea
Turns out the kid in the pink car was mine, and the parent pushing the pink car was Joe. Carter was sitting in the car grinning from ear to ear. I laughed so hard and for so long that I started to draw attention from the people shopping for car seats in the area across the isle from us. Carter was loving it and I could not stop laughing!
I have a bunch of pictures to upload but I'm too pooped to do anything with them right now. (I apologize in advance if this post doesn't make any sense. My head is fuzzy) In regards to being totally pooped...Carter has started rolling in his crib which equals an exhausted Carter and exhausted Mama. He rolls from back to belly, gets stuck, and freaks out. So for the past week + we've been dealing with this during naps but it has started to affect nights too.
I've never let Carter "cry it out"... his cries go straight to my core and I can't not go get him, so when he starts to cry (not fuss, but actually cry) I would go up and flip him over, calm him down, and lay him back down, and repeat, repeat, repeat, etc. It was exhausting. It usually lead to skipping the afternoon nap, a short meltdown and then a super slap happy kid. And I mean SLAP HAPPY! Kid would laugh at everything! Kody sneezing behind him, Tucker walking by, jumping, etc. So while he wasn't napping at least he thought it was hilarious. Meanwhile I was exhausted. I wasn't aware that trying to calm a baby down for hours on end and dealing with little melt downs day after day was so exhausting.
Friday morning (I use the term morning loosely... 4:30am isn't really "morning" for most people) rolled around and I had a splitting headache. Like made me puke it was so terrible. Maybe a migraine, but if so it wasn't like any migraine I've ever had before. Joe, being the good husband and dad that he is, came home, put me to bed and took care of Carter while I passed out for a solid 3 hours and slept off 90% of my headache. Later that afternoon nap time rolled around. (haa I just realized my unintended pun. rolled. around. haa) So yeah, nap time rolled around, and so did Carter. By the time I walked out of Carter's room and down the stairs, he had rolled over. I looked at Joe and said "what now?" He says "lets give him 10 minutes and see what happens" So I took a seat on the bottom stair, grabbed Cartey TV (the video monitor) and braced myself. He fussed for a couple minutes, hard core cried for a couple minutes, I cried for a couple minutes, he fussed a bit, laid his head down and was asleep before the 10 minutes were up. It was so cute, I took a picture of him sleeping on his tummy. He didn't sleep long, but he took a nap on his tummy! Miracles never cease.
Fast forward to Friday night. I hear Carter fussing, turn on Cartey TV and see that he has rolled over. I'm about to get out of bed when I see him lay his head down and go right back to sleep! I woke Joe up, told him what had happened and laid there and grinned at my little munchkin that just rolled over and put himself back to sleep on his tummy! I had a big idiot grin on my face. I was so proud of him!
Now, if we could only get him to figure out how to roll from belly to back. Then he could sleep however he wants.
One quick picture
driving to go get the mail.. taking his job very seriously. nice 10 o'clock hand placement
bringing the mail home
I lied. 2 pictures. I couldn't show you going to get the mail without bringing the mail home in his cars trunk!
I'm pretty sure I've never gushed about my bugboo... Gushing ahead. Here's an example. Today we took some pictures. 203 pictures to be exact. So I upload them and scroll through them and write down the numbers of the pictures I want to look at further and upload to the blog. I wrote down 48 pictures. Keep in mind all of these pictures were taken in a span of less than 20 minutes so basically they are all very similar. Yet I found 48 I had to have. I sit at the computer and love laugh like no other. Sometimes I love laugh loud enough that Joe comes to take a peek at what I'm love laughing about. Kid blows my mind with his cuteness. He definitely got the best of both gene pools.... or he was switched at birth becuase I'm not sure how Joe and I produced such a cute little bugboo. Remember when I was pregnant and I took a picture of Joe and I and put it into some online program that told you what your kids will look like?
Here are the results of the online predictor
at least this one looks like a baby
Here's what we ended up with. Now, I may very well be wearing mama goggles, but damn is this dude cute or what?
The many faces of Carter
Tucker decided to stop in and sniff a baby. Carter thinks Tucker is pretty funny the past few days. Tucker will bring a toy or a bone to Carter and toss it at him then lay down and wait for Carter to play with him. When Carter doesn't throw Tucker's toy/bone Tucker gives a little woof and Carter cracks up. Super cute.
Anyway, as I sat and went through 203 pictures I LLMAO. Love laughed my ass off. He's so cute I just want to eat him up! Buttercup baby.
PS that is an amber teething necklace he is wearing. It is supposed to release some oils that absorb into the skin and ease teething pain. Normally I would not buy into that bologna, but people I know swear by them so I bought the bologna. And his diaper is a bumgenius elemental for anyone that was wondering.
Couple more for Nana... Carter got dressed in his first outfit of the day... since we usually go through about 4 or 5 a day :) Cute sweatshirt from his personal shopper and pants that his mama bought. Gasp! An article of clothing NOT from his nana? Shocking!
Then we went for a walk with Max and Melissa and used the stroller sleeping bag/blanket for the first time. It is 50, cloudy, windy and raining off an on. Carter was snug as a bug and fell asleep... and is still sleeping in the stroller right now :)

Always by Switchfoot. Lyrics:
This is the star, this is your heart This is the day you were born This is the sun, these are your lungs This is the day you were born
And I am always, always, always yours And I am always, always, always yours
These are the scars deep in your heart This is the place you were born And this is the hole where most of your soul comes ripping out From the places you've been torn
And it is always, always, always yours And I am always, I'm always, I'm always yours
Hallelujah, I'm caving in Hallelujah, I'm in love again Hallelujah, I'm a wretched man Hallelujah, every breath is a second chance, yeah
And it is always, always, always yours And I am always, I'm always, always yours Always, always, I'm always yours, I'm yours Always, always, I am always yours
