Mu

I have hundreds of pictures to go through from our trip but I really wanted to post something tonight. I put Carter to bed, jumped in the shower and when I got out I clicked on the video monitor and saw this. This is the PERFECT picture to sum up our amazing trip to San Diego. That's Shamu (or Mu as Carter calls him) snuggled in Carter's sleeping little arms. Melt my heart good.

And since I know people will say that video monitor pictures are tough to decipher I added some arrows.

last weekend

Our temps in AZ have been record breaking hot. But we've finally gotten to a place where the mornings are bearable. Carter LOVES to play outside so I figured now was the perfect time to get the little guy a fun water table and we could fill it up and play outside in the morning. We had it in the house for a week (minus the water) and Carter loved playing with it. Last weekend we finally filled it up and brought it outside. Things didn't go quite as planned.

The hose, hose sprayer nozzle thing, rocks, and muddy water were way more fun than the water table! Tucker and Carter bonded over their love for muddy water. You can see Carter's diaper in some of the pictures above and how drenched it was. When we took it off and changed him into a swim diaper I swear to you the diaper weighed about 5 lbs. It was crazy!

Couple videos of him playing. He had a BLAST and would have stayed out there all day if we let him.

I still need to blog our trip to the fire station. But the pics aren't that great as Carter was go, go, go and was way too fascinated with the trucks to even look at me for one second. But it was fun anyway. And we're off to San Diego tomorrow morning. So excited! I cannot wait to bring Carter to Sea World!

misc.

I went to get the mail the other day and there was a box in slot that looked like a box of checks. I was thinking "hmm.. that's strange" Then I picked it up and saw this!

Addressed to Baby Girl Troness. Pretty cute and it definitely made me laugh. Her very own first piece of mail. Inside we found some girly goodies!

Look at the little girl socks and a girly rattle! So cute! What's funny about this is that I had this exact rattle in my hand at Target the other day and I totally wanted to buy it but in my head I was thinking "Joe is going to kill me if I keep coming home with girl stuff every time I go out." I came home with 3 girl outfits the other day and holy hannah did I get major eye rolls and the you-can't-buy-a-ton-of-stuff-everytime-you-go-out talk. And here I thought I was being so good! I had at least 10 outfits in my cart and I put a bunch back :) But then I came home with this and how could he be upset with this!

Anyway, it is definitely fun to be shopping for a girl this time. Apparently Grandma Troness feels the same way!

Grandma Troness sent Carter his first rattle too. I still remember exactly which one it is and I'm sure it will be the same thing with these socks and rattle for Baby Girl Troness.

Speaking of Baby Girl Troness, I think that might end up being her name. Joe and I are having a TOUGH time with names. We were pretty set on Paysen for a boy.... but then the strangest thing happened.... we found out it's not a boy! The shock of that is still setting in. But we love to tell Carter about his baby sister. The other day at Target we let him pick out a sleeper for his little sister. He picked this purple sleeper with a giraffe. Letting Carter pick stuff is always fun and so cute! Plus I think he made a good choice with this sleeper.

Carter videos

Every week Carter and I go to a local gymnastics place for open gym. Carter loves open gym so much! He runs from the second we get there until the second we leave. Literally, he runs the entire time. His head gets drenched in sweat because he's running non stop! There are so many things to play with that he can't waste a single second by walking, he has to be running. Then he gets going so fast and he'll hit a bump in the mat or just plain run too fast and tumble down, get right back up and run again! The last time we were there Carter stumbled right next to another mom and she says "ohh!!! are you ok?!" Carter just got up and ran away. I laughed and said "it's so normal for him to run too fast and fall that it doesn't phase him in the slightest!"

I keep telling Joe he needs to take a half day sometime so he can come to open gym with us. Carter is so funny to watch and he's so happy to go to open gym! Plus if Joe came I'd be able to take some pictures! Now it's impossible because I'm running after Carter the entire time :)

Lately this is one of Carter's favorite things to do. Run up the mat onto the trampoline, jump a bit, then run down the mat. Repeat, repeat, repeat! He also loves to be thrown into the foam pits, but again if I'm throwing him there's no way to video :( (notice at 34 seconds Carter "jumps" on the trampoline; it kills me!) Not to brag... ok to totally brag, Carter has awesome balance compared to most kids his age. Well, except when he runs too fast :) Look at how well he holds his own while an older girl bounces the trampoline!

This misc video gives you an idea of how much he runs, tumbles, then runs again. He explores everything - trying to see if he could crawl under this beam, then deciding to go over it and a nice close up of his hair drenched in sweat. Funny guy! (I apologize for my terrible video taking skills! This one is pretty jumppy!)

******************

The other day I was telling Joe that I'm preparing Carter for his wife early. Kid loves to clean! He'll walk me over to the vacuum, pick up the vacuum, then grab for me to pick him up. He thinks it's so funny when I vacuum and hold him at the same time. Or while I'm vacuuming the carpet he'll go get the tile vacuum (battery operated) and turn it on and vacuum the tile. He even pushes out the chairs and vacuums under the table! Just this morning I was vacuuming Carter's room and looked into the hall to see him walking the vacuum back and forth down the hallway. It kills me that he even has the back and forth motion down! In this video you can also see him signing all done. He is such a great little signer!

In two weeks we're taking a mini family vacation to San Diego. We're getting two day passes to Sea World and we're sooo excited! I know I haven't been posting many pics lately (it's been so hot we've been stuck inside lately) but there will be tons of pictures from San Diego soon. I cannot wait to take Carter to the beach and Sea World. He's going to love it!

new love

Carter has a new love. His orange adidas tennis shoes. He saw them on the shelf in his closet and cried and cried until I got them down for him. Since then he wants to wear them non stop... which would be fine except they are too small for him. He loves these shoes. I'm not sure what the deal is. If it's because they are orange or they are sneakers or what. Whatever it is he loves these shoes. He tries to put them on himself and if he's not successful he whines and runs to me with the shoe in hand so I can put it on his foot. He's so funny with these shoes! And go figure I cannot find a bigger pair anywhere! I've searched and searched for these shoes. No luck finding them. Boo! So I did the next best thing and ordered different orange sneakers and I hope they will be just as loved.

silly baby

Carter loves cooking utensils. Today he was especially attached to a spoon. So much so that he went down for his nap grasping that spoon like it was the only one left in the world. I tried to take it out of his hand but he wasn't having it.

This is a picture of his monitor.... which is extremely hard to take a picture of so I added some descriptions.

baby #2 is a.........

GIRL!!! I'm still in shock! Joe and I were like "wait, are you sure?" I swore up down and sideways that it was another boy. I just had this feeling. So much for my gut being correct. Plus the Troness family makes boys.... but not this time!

Calling her a her is still a little crazy to me! Now on to girl names and girl bedding, etc.

Baby girl was all curled up in there. Our awesome ultra sound tech was shaking my belly around trying to get her to stretch out and move. She (!) had her legs and arms all curled up. At one point we saw her with her foot over her head and her little hand playing with her foot. So funny! Our ultra sound tech was amazing and took so much time and told us so much. It was fun! However Carter wasn't a fan of the ultra sound. I'm not sure if he didn't like me laying there with this lady pushing on me or if he wanted to press the buttons on the machine or what but he wasn't having it. So Joe didn't get to experience a ton of the ultra sound. However she said she wouldn't reveal the gender until Joe was in there. She showed us and was like "can you tell what it is?" Joe and I "uh.. no..." Her "it's a girl!" Joe and I "Are you sure?!" She was 99.9% positive it is a girl.
