diaper baby!

Carter is in cloth diapers for the first time. It was too cute I had to take a picture. Plus this little outfit - too much cuteness for one momma to handle!

Carter's 3 month stats

Weight 15lb 5oz - 89%
Height 25.5 inches - 94%

Carter was very flirty with Dr McGarey today :) He grabbed and held her finger and talked her socks off! Then he showed her how cool his hands were! She said he is acting more like a four month old. My little over achiever.

the videos are moving!

If you have bookmarked my youtube channel you can delete it. Carter's videos will be moving to vimeo. I wasn't crazy about the videos being out there for anyone to see, and vimeo has much better privacy options hence the move. All videos will be password protected with a password of "Tucker".

I think this link should bring you to my profile and the videos.

Update - well it's not as easy as that I guess. Stay tuned.

Pikkolo

We got our new baby carrier, the Pikkolo, in the mail this past week (thanks Nana) and have been testing it out on walks and at the grocery store. So far it seems to be a hit! Carter seems to enjoy the new perspective and has fallen asleep a few times.

a forgotten picture

3 months

3 months

Cartey is three months!

three months

In Carter news:

* He is 15.5ish pounds and 25.5 inches tall.

Sports Carter

* He smiles all the time and even at random people.

* He has learned to squeal like a little piggy :) He does it mostly when he's rolling over (I should say when I'm rolling him over) or on his tummy. His squealing has made Tucker much more aware of him. Now when Carter is on the floor squealing Tucker thinks it's play time. The other day Tucker brought one of his tiny tennis balls over to the blanket and dropped it by Carter, laid down, and then wagged his tail and looked at Carter like he was waiting for Carter to play with him. Very cute.

tuck and carter

* Tummy time isn't so bad anymore, and he actually seems to be enjoying it.

* He giggled! These insanely cute little giggles. Joe came home from work one day to find Carter and I playing on the floor. Carter was sitting on my lap and all of a sudden he starts giggling! Joe and I were puddles on the floor - it was the sweetest little sound I've ever heard. We were grinning ear to ear. He's only done it once so far, but believe me when I say that we are doing everything we can to try and get more giggles out of him.

* He slept through the night for the first time about a week ago. It hasn't happened again but he is continually sleeping 7-9 hour stretches. Usually getting up once a night. Instead of waking up around 2, now he's getting up around 4. Only a few more hours and he'd be sleeping through the night all the time.

sleepy

* He is wearing nine month sleepers!

Carter 13 weeks

* He LOVES his hands. They are probably the one of the coolest toys we have in the house. He loves to look at them and bring them to his mouth and suck on them.

hands2

hands

* Speaking of hands, a few weeks ago he started grabbing his toys and bringing them to his mouth. He is starting to explore the world through his mouth :) He likes to suck on Milo and Harvey (his lovey bears)and tries to get Charlie (the seahorse) in his mouth. He sucks on blankets and shirts. I usually have more than one wet spot on my shoulder from him sucking on my shirt.

* He loves to blow bubbles and almost always has a bubble or two on this cute little lips.

3 months 2

* Sitting up is a big hit in Carter's book. He seems to enjoy the new perspective. And he looks like such a big kid sitting up! He also likes his bumbo, but I haven't gotten a picture of him sitting in it yet.

Carter Couch

one of a kind

Carter 3 months

* He still loves to rub a blanket or Harvey/Milo on his face when he's sleepy or starting to fall asleep. It seems to really soothe him and help him put himself to sleep.

* He still thinks baby wearing is for cool kids and loves it. Hanging out in the baby k'tan is always a hit in Carter's book.

ktan 2

ktan

* This isn't really "news" per say but Carter is one chill dude. He is so laid back and happy. I've heard stories of babies that only drink warm milk, or only like warm wipes on their toosh, or only use a certain nuk, or drink out of a certain bottle, etc. Carter hasn't displayed any of that. He is so chill. The only thing that he really fusses about is being covered up at night. He likes to have a blanket on him. He could take or leave the nuk, warm or cold milk he doesn't care, any bottle is fine by him, etc.

sleepy

In other Troness news:

* It is finally barely warm enough to wear shorts in the house... and it's the end of June in AZ. Strange I know.

shorts

green shorts

* Our dogs know how to use pillows and it always cracks me up.

tuck

joe and tuck 2

Joe and Tuck

* Carter and I are about to take a leap into cloth diapering... we're still waiting for our order but we're pretty pumped to try it out.

* Last, but definitely not least, we are beyond excited for our trip home. I know Carter is looking forward to meeting some new people, taking a bath in the huge bath tub (aka swimming), lazing in the hammock, and laying the grass for the first time (no nice grass here). He is fully aware that he will be snuggled like crazy, and promises to pass out lots of big gummy baby smiles for those special people in his life. <3

Wide eyes!

Bulb nose things suck. I ordered two nose suckers from amazon and had them overnighted to me in podunk. When you live in podunk you have to fork over $$$$ for shipping because there are no stores near you! Anyway I won't continue on as we all know how much I *love* living here.

So anyway the nose suckers got quite a reaction of of Carter. Check it out here.

12 week old looks like a ................

5 MONTH old according to the doctor today :)

We went to the doctor this morning because Bug is sick. He has his first cold. Runny, stuff nose and a cough. We all can thank Daddy for bringing home this wonderful cold and passing it out to Momma and Carter. Although so far I think Carter is handling it better than Momma! I hate being sick and am the worst sick person. Carter on the other hand is still his smiley self. The doctor (saw a new doc today because ours doesn't work on Tuesdays) walks in and looks at him and says "Wow, you're a big 12 week old! You look like a 5 month old!" Carter flashes her a big gummy baby smile. Gotta love my little horse.

Speaking of little horse, Bug weighs in at........................... make your guess in your head now............................................

wait for it.....

FIFTEEN POUNDS, FIVE OUNCES !!

Crazy right?!

So the cold went from Joe, to me, then to Carter. And I do have to mention that while Joe did bring home the crap he has really stepped it up and been an awesome daddy and husband while I moan and complain about being sick. :) I fully admit I am a terrible sick person and probably pretty annoying to be around, but Joe hasn't complained once and has taken over 95% of Carter's care in an effort to keep the cold from Carter and let me get better. He may leave socks laying around in the most random places - like under the table or on the paper shredder (no joke!) - but I'll take socks on the paper shredder any day for a husband who jumps right in and doesn't ever complain (seriously never complains) and a daddy that loves his son so completely it melts my heart.

Lovie as a hat!

This little boy loves his lovie bears. He loves to rub his face on them, suck on them, and put them on his face or around his head like a hat. Silly boy

lovie

Carter's first video...

can be found on youtube. Or by clicking here. It is six minutes and a compilation of a bunch of videos I've taken. Some baby noises and talking (although he talks most when he is playing by himself, when he sees us he is captivated by us or the camera), the start of what Joe and I think are giggles, some dogs talking, dog kissing, dog sniffing, Carter waking up, tummy time, etc.

Daddy's Home Run Hero!

Carter got this onesie outfit from his Grandma and Grandpa when they came to visit after he was born. I remember opening the gift saying Oh my God he's going to be 15 before he wears this.......... um well he's 11 weeks and wearing it. And it is 6 months. My baby horse is growing up fast!

Carter has these lovie bears that he loves to rub his face on while he falls asleep. He loves having these bears on his face and head. Somehow he managed to get it up around his head like a hat during this nap!

It's a dog's life!

Today Carter and I made cookies.... like the kind where you measure out flower, sugar, eggs, etc. Not the kind where you open the package and plop them on a cookie sheet. We made FOR REAL cookies!! Today chocolate chip, tomorrow we'll make peanut butter.

Then we laid on the bed and Carter became mesmerized by the ceiling fan... which is oh so funny!

While I became mesmerized by baby legs!

Then later I went in to get Carter when he woke up from his nap and found him a Charlie (the seahorse) carrying on with a very important conversation!

Charlie was just as enthralled with Carter

Then we had some tummy time... he was actually smiling while on his tummy but by the time I got the camera he didn't want to smile anymore.

And they say Mondays suck. Pshh, not at our house! It is a dogs life!

just can't get enough

just can't get enough Cartey Boo. Bug. Love of my life. Whatever you want to call him I cannot stop gushing over how funny, cute, handsome, goofy, talkative, etc he is.

This weekend had a mini milestone in it. I spent my first full day, 7:20am until 4:30pm, away from my main squeeze. I was supposed to leave at 7... but the thought of leaving him all day long was enough to make me a little coo coo in la cabeza. (crazy in the head) I couldn't stop smooching and hugging my little man. And just when I thought I was ready to leave I had to go back and pick him up, tell him how much I love him, and squeeze and kiss profusely... again! All the while Joe looked on trying to urge me out of the house so I could get down to Phoenix and get my stuff done and get back in a timely manner. It was in those 20 minutes that I fully realized how incredibly lucky I am to be a stay at home mom.

I made it to Phoenix and back without melting! It was 108 and HOT HOT HOT! I had forgotten what Phoenix summers were like. It made me wish for a nice pool and a floaty and some splish spashing with Carter, Joe and Kody... while Tucker lounged in his own puppy pool.

Anyway, Carter and Daddy made it through the day without me and I think Momma and Daddy both gained new perspectives that day. Momma realized how tiring it is to drive 5 hours and run around like a crazy person trying to get everything done in Phoenix so you can get home before 10pm - like Joe does a few times a month. Daddy realized that being a stay at home daddy isn't all twiddling thumbs and naps. My most favorite quote from that day was when I asked Joe how his day was going (while on my way back to Flagstaff) and he said "I brought all this work home thinking hey I can get this all done while Tara is in Phoenix and Carter naps.... but I haven't gotten any of it done" Then I got home to a husband who hadn't even found time to shower! I had to giggle when he was so relieved that I was home and he had the time to go take a shower :) Anyway it was good for both of us to get a glimpse of what the other does and made us appreciate what we have even more.

Sunday was a lazy day as it was also very hot in Flagstaff. 90, full sun, and no AC. We ventured out for an early walk and spent the rest of the day inside. Carter started out in a little romper from his Grandma and Grandpa, but then had a little diaper leak and spent the rest of the day as diaper baby. I can't say that Joe or I minded..... or that we didn't smooch his belly 500+ times this afternoon... guilty.

While I didn't melt in Phoenix, I melt a little bit each time I see Joe doing anything it takes to get a smile out of Carter. Even if that means says 'Oohhhhh, yeaaaaayaaaahhhh' in a really high pitched voice!
