Carter just turned 2.5. He is the most loving little man lately. He gives unprompted hugs all the time. Even to Mya! When he sees Joe come home from work he stops what he's doing to run over to him to give him a hug. He'll put his b on my shoulder and then snuggle in for a hug. He even goes up to Mya and hugs her too! Everyone gets Carter hugs around this house.... well except for Kody. She runs the other way, which Carter finds hilarious.
Momkiss.... he's more stingy with momkisses lately. I LOVE this vocab mixup. Apparently I've said "give mom a kiss" so many times that Carter now thinks that kisses are called "momkiss". While I am very aware that we should continue to use the correct word, I don't. I call them momkisses and so does Joe.
Carter started pre-preschool. It was interesting...very eye opening. Carter did great for the most part, but it showed me that he'd benifit from some more structure at home. He had fun with the other kids and the cool trucks they had in class. Mya went to the child care. She cried when I put her down, which I expected. But when I went to pick her up she was snuggled in the teachers lap with her blanket and a book. They said she did great! Then both kids proceeded to come down with nasty colds. Boo.
He also started gymnastics classes. Perfect outlet for him! Running, jumping, trampoline, foam pit, balance beam, etc.he loves it all! It is right up his alley and something that we can definitely see keeping him in for a while.
Carter is super super into all construction trucks and tractors. This has been going on for some time now. He's a boy after his dad's heart with this insane love for construction vehicles. A few other favorites are the park, sandbox, flour containers and his ipad games. Especially the matching and puzzle ipad games. He is a whiz at both! He's also very into jumping and throwing.
We went to the apple orchard where they had tractor rides. Fun! Carter could have watched the tractors all day long!
Nana, Carter & Dad
He wasn't so sure about the pony ride. He was ok until the pony started moving!
Papa getting some snuggles.
Mya spent the trip snuggling and sleeping in the baby carrier. I love the baby carrier! I love having her snuggled up with me.
My littlest baby girl is 8 months old. I'm not sure how this happened so quickly! She is still a huge mama's girl. In fact she said her first word a few weeks ago. It was "mom". Made my heart explode with love! And since then she has started calling me Mama. She says it mostly when I put her down and she wants me back. I got a decent example on video.
There are so many things going on with Mya I'm not even sure how to describe her! She loves to roll all over the house yet she hates it when I set her down.
don't set me down mama!
She loves to stand up but isn't pulling up yet - but she'll fuss to we prop her up and then will chat happily! She is starting to get on all fours. However, since she hates to be put down this new skill is definitely not on the top of her list. She's be a happy camper if I carried her all day. They say that this age they are grasping what it means when someone walks away/leaves. I think it is safe to say that she has figured this out! However, I don't mind.
Being the last baby is special in a different way from being the first baby. Both equally special, obviously, just different. With Carter I loved watching him grow up and was always excited for what was next. While I still enjoy Mya learning new things and growing up, it is all happening much too quickly. I find myself wanting her to slow down and stay a baby longer.
However, she's not slowing down one bit! This just started today! Before I know it she'll be crawling all over!
The absolute best thing about two kids is their love for each other. It is indescribable amazing. They make each other laugh like no one else can. They make me so happy!
he was watching a "bideo" of her and thought it was funny!
Mya was sitting in Carter's lap while he drank some milk. She reached back, grabbed the sippy and took a drink!
The end, for now. I promise myself I will be a better blogger/family journaler.
